Italy's Eternal City is one of the world's most beautiful and inspiring capitals. Rome is known for its art masterpieces, breathtaking architecture, monuments and museums as well as for its streets and alleyways where the traditional Italian lifestyle and culture are always on display. Whether you take in the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Square and the Colosseum, or enjoy an espresso as the world goes by, Rome has everything you expect from one of the great cities of the Old World.
Rome’s Mediterranean climate and outstanding courses make it a great Italian golf destination. Perhaps the best layout in the area is Circolo del Golf Roma Acquasanta, which was established over hundred years ago by British expats and continues to present a good challenge even in the modern era. Also worth playing within just 30 minutes of the city are Golf Nazionale’s 18-hole course and Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. This latter establishment, with its lovely views of the Castle Marco Simone and the dome of St. Peter's, deserves special mention because it will host the 2022 Ryder Cup, and will undergo a complete reconstruction in preparation for that event and, it is hoped, the 2024 Olympic Games should Rome's bid prevail.
Other courses around Rome are: Castelgandolfo Country Club, Golf Club Parco De' Medici, Olgiata Golf Club and Parco Di Roma Golf Club.
But no matter where you play, the amazing landscapes of Rome offer a colourful and memorable golfing experience.
