The Hamptons is part of Long Island and is formed of a group of villages and hamlets. It is a very popular seaside resort for New Yorkers. This made the Hamptons rank amongst the highest residential real estate prices in the US.
The area is home to some of the finest and most historic courses in the world, with 5 courses in the top 100 courses in the world: Shinnecock Hills Golf Club (host of the 2018 and 2026 US Open) was one of the founder clubs of the United States Golf Association and the first club to admit women members.
National Golf Links of America, Sebonack Golf Club, Friar’s Head and Maidstone Club are four of the other must-play courses in the region. Make sure you’ve planned your trip before heading there as most of the courses are private and some hard bargaining may be required with a member to get a tee-time. Some golf clubs such as The Bridge, even have initiation fees of $1 million.
