Jack Nicklaus designed the Sea View course, as is obvious in his signature waste bunkering, strategic use of water and sensitivity to the lay of the land. As he said of his creation, "I think the natural terrain, the vegetation and the scenery really shape the natural character of the golf course." The South China Sea frames this par 72 course, which benefits from a nice variety in the topography, while the woodland setting makes for some superb holes. The par 3 12th is set on the ocean and subject to strong breezes that can make it tough to decide which club to use. The signature 13th is not long but leads to a unique green split by a creek. The par 4 finishing hole is likewise defined by water on one side, with bunkers on the other, and offers scenic vistas of the clubhouse and the sea.
