Jaypee Greens marks Greg Norman's debut as an architect in India. Norman was given a sprawling, 450-acre site to work with, and he has created a correspondingly massive course, with a full 7347 yards off the tips and with ample space separating the tees from the greens. Part of the motivation for the expansiveness of the layout is so that the development can accommodate more residences fronting on the famous American's course. At the same time, Jaypee Greens is now positioned to attract some of the championship play that is bound to increase in India as the country's financial and economic power expands. The back tees are to be sure reserved for the skilled player with a powerful drive, but there are ample tee options, and the scope of the course provides plenty of space. Water hazards figure in many of the holes, though usually not in shots off the tee.
