The Norman Course at Mission Hills lives up to its namesake's reputation for demanding designs. This course has plenty of length and little width, with abundant bunkers and fescue as lush as can be imagined. Of the Mission Hills' twelve courses, the Norman is by far the most demanding, and it is indeed unsurpassed for difficulty anywhere in China, making it a real challenge, and a truly unique experience, for even the experienced player. The Norman is also visually stunning: the back nine thread their way through elevated country that offers superb vistas before subsiding into forested lowland. The bunkers are imposing and the greens demanding. This is not a course for the faint of heart, having been described by one member as the perfect arena for an epic match between God and the Devil (in which the former wins by making par on the hellish final hole).
