The front 9 plays through pine forests, native areas and across and along spectacular gorges, with views of the Andes and the vast Patagonian landscape. Wide fairways allow for multiple strategic options as well as playability for golfers of all levels. Rugged and natural bunkering complements the Patagonia landscape and design features of the course. The large, bent grass greens with closely mown surrounds favor the low running game.
Protecting the environment was a primary objective for the developer and Greg Norman at El Desafío. Tees, fairways and roughs were seeded with fine fescues, ensuring excellent playability, firm and fast conditions as well as low irrigation and fertilization needs. Native areas surround the course and were left untouched, providing beautiful contrasts to the course
