The North Course at Los Angeles Country Club was originally designed by Herbert Fowler in 1921 but it was remodeled by George C. Thomas Jr. in 1927. Los Angeles Country Club is located in famous Beverly Hills neighborhood. After a five-year renovation in 2005, the North Course reopened for play in 2010. The last renovation was made by Gil Hanse and his team, and now the classic course returns to its former glory. The lay out is at once thrilling and often exciting with its hills, ridges and valleys. The par trees on the North Course are very long, strong and noteworthy. With the clubhouse as a backdrop, the 9th is probably the signature hole but many players consider the 11th to be the the star with stunning views over Downtown LA. The North Course has been chosen to host the 2017 Walker Cup, the competition between US Team and Great Britain and Ireland Team.
