Arnold Palmer, Ed Seay, Erik Larsen
Arnold Palmer laid out the course here at Running Y Ranch, a destination resort over four thousand feet up in the Cascades in the south of Oregon outside Klamath Falls, in 1998. The area is secluded and serene, loaded with flora and fauna, and blessed with superb weather most of the time. Palmer's 6527-meter, par 72 design is equal to the wonderful surroundings. The land upon which it lies, right along Upper Klamath Lake, at one point belong to Roy Disney, brother of Walt. Players can luxuriate in the stunning alpine vistas and fertile marshland while enjoying an exciting round of golf. Standout holes include the 3rd, which extends for over 350 yards next to an enormous pond, and the short 5th, the 147-yard signature hole on grassy open ground surrounded by water. Running Y is Palmer's only course in Oregon, and counts it among his select "Sweet Sixteen."
