Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw
The course at this club with an easily mispronounced name was created by the architecture team of Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore. Located equidistant between Augusta and Atlanta, Cuscowilla is a typical housing and multi-use resort complex for which a top-notch course is the centerpiece. The layout is one of several of Crenshaw's designs that get touted as his best; it is in any case a superb achievement. With a nod to the classic courses of the past, the first holes ease the players in to a round, obviating the need to spend a bunch of time in the practice area warming up. Nearby Lake Oconee is often the source of breezes that come into play. So be prepared, because a great many of the holes are relatively exposed, though the first and last few are set in the forested area that borders the pleasant clubhouse.
