If your like me you try to imagine yourself sinking a putt on the par 3 18th for 11 million dollars. Not many people can fathom a putt that wins you 11 million, but playing East Lake gives you a chance to live out that dream, well without the large pay out. As you putt out and walk off the 18th green at East Lake you smile and think of all the great golfers that have came before you.
I came away with one main thought, there a lot of water carries including the famous island green 6th. A fantastic hole and make sure you walk farther around the lake and get a look at where the pros tee box is.
Throughout your round you forget your in Atlanta. The course has a layout that gives you a great view of the property without giving away to much of holes to come.
Many charity events are held on Mondays when the course is closed, so look for great opportunities to give back to the community and to play this historic track.
Love the course. Once you play, you realise how complicate is to avoid the sand traps for high handicappers. The clubhouse space is charming with a complete sanctuary to Bobby Jones and every facet of his life.
A caddy is required on the golf course.
Challenging but fair golf course. East Lake is the stable venue of the PGA Tour Championship by Coca Cola. Located in Atlanta with stunning views of the downtown skyline, East Lake Golf Club is the home course to the legendary Bobby Jones and the oldest course in Atlanta.
If you love the history of the game East Lake is definitely the place for you.
