When Tyson Foods heir John Tyson established the Blessing Golf Club in the Arkansas town of Fayetteville in 2004, he tapped leading architect Robert Trent Jones II to design the course. Jones does justice to the site, which extends along the cliffs that line the rolling, forested land beside Clear Creek. The flexible layout—which ensures that the fine contemporary clubhouse is clear of the creek's floodplain—features a number of holes that can take on more than one par value. The generous range of tee positions accommodates all players; the brave can tackle the full 6885 meters from the back tees. The course flows up and down as the holes progress along the cliffs that tower twenty or more yards above the creek and down into ravines, groves and meadows. One standout hole is the 155-yard 10th, where the green is raised up on the lip of a quarry.
