Florida golf is known for it’s cookie cutter layouts that are flat with no personality. I can only imagine the excitement when Tom Fazio first traveled to the Black Diamond property and stood in splendor at the land he was given. The private layout uses an old gravel quarry to give it a phenomenal five holes that will rival any five hole stretch in the world.
There are 27 total holes for members to enjoy with a grand practice phcility that aids in your preparation. With an incredible clubhouse and restaurants to choose from this club it worth writing home about.
The course is well cared for and even during the brutal summer months in the Sunshine State the greens and fairways were perfect.
The last of the ‘quarry’ hole stretch the par three 17th is a memorable hole. It’s a one shot elevated green, that dives down into the lower part of the quarry. The neat part of this hole are the large grass bunkers in front protecting this green from short shots.
Most golfers end up in this part of Florida to play World Woods which in itself is a must play. So don’t give up the opportunity to play at Black Diamond while in the area.
