Colin Montgomerie is another among the stars of the game who have taken the opportunity to design a course in the coastal resort region of Antalya. Perhaps a little over-confident after such successes as Carton House near Dublin, Montgomerie seems to have gotten somewhat carried a way here. Most people who play the courses in and around Antalya are vacationers or retirees, and they are after fun, and maybe a challenge or two, but not an encounter with a tournament-ready score buster. The greens will be a particular source of frustration, being so slanted that many will find themselves with multiple putts every time. Sure, some events are bound to come, but that's not really what golf in Antalya is about. In any case, the setting is excellent, featuring sandy soil and gentle dunes dotted with pine trees; the course, unfortunately, rather squats on the land than blends into it.
