Golf Club Crans-sur-Sierre is not the longest course we get to play on tour but the narrow, firm and slopy greens surrounded by thick rough make it tricky and challenging. Clumsy mistakes will cost you a few shots around this track.
The setting is beautiful and unique. Beside from golf, Crans is the perfect place to clear your mind, do a lot of sports and eat well.
Crans is a very beautiful place located quite high in altitude. This means that the ball flies much further than usually, which makes it pretty challenging to get your distance control right. The greens are fast and tricky. You really have to stick to your game plan and hope to hole a few putts to shoot under par.
Definitely one of my favorite courses on Tour!
This is a great golf course and an exceptional view over the Swiss Alps (the view from the 7h tee is Magic).
Still a mountain course but maybe one of the best to play in Switzerland. It is an European Tour location, so you have to go and play there.
The 18 holes "Ballesteros" is my favourite course in Europe. The view over the Alps is just gorgeous. It is a quite challenging layout, regardless of each player's handicap, especially on windy days. Some holes are long and require a solid drive from the tee (in particular the 2, 4, 9, 14, 15). Some others are all about accuracy (3, 5, 6, 12, 17, 18). Of course, I am still always amazed at the sight of the iconic n°7 which is ranked by GoldDigest amongst the 18 most beautiful holes in the world. It is a short par 4 that the long hitters can reach with a driver or even a perfect 3 wood. The green is surrounded by some of the highestt peaks of the Alps (Weisshorn, Matterhorn, Bisshorn, etc. On very sunny and clear days, you can even see the Mont Blanc). The staff is charming and the maintenance is outstanding considering that the course is a cross-country ski trail in winter. The course is also the venue of the European Masters. Unsurprisingly, some players of the Tour have made from the Ballesteros their favourite course, too. Let's not forget the 9 holes "Nicklaus" which, although not very long, is a typical Jack Nicklaus golf course with elevated tees and well protected greens. The little town of Crans Montana really sets the tone, too. There’s just such a great atmosphere about the place -- golfers and a great population as well.
