The history of Wallenried Golf begins with Fredric Horn initiative to take steps to build a golf course in Wallenried, on a 80 hectare land leased to the foundation of Castella. The many golfers of the Fribourg region and the Central Plateau are eager to join the Club. At their first meeting, 5 December 1992, the contacts are formed and the atmosphere portends the future of quenching Club Wallenried. In 1993 begin earthwork and the amenities of the clubhouse. The plans of the journeys made by golf architect Ruzzo Reuss offer fairway and around the hill of Zudalla. The conduct of work is ensured by Fredric Horn. In spring 1994, the first five holes opened to players. During the following years, the committees which follow are constantly making improvements to the course and the surrounding facilities. The decisions and financial efforts to improve the infrastructure of the Golf are rewarded. It affirms the quality of its facilities and its elite athletes who ranks among the best players in Switzerland.
