Built on a hilly moraine landscape, the Golf & Country Club Schönenberg is situated 20 km south of Zürich in the Zimmerberg chain, between Lake Zurich and Lake Sihl. Designed by Donald Harradine in 1967, Schönenberg has been regarded as one of the finest courses in Switzerland ever since. The grounds lie embedded in a moraine landscape surrounded by moor. With its soft, undulating fairways moulded perfectly into the landscape, the creatively designed 18-hole course poses a challenge for golfers of all levels. It comes as no surprise that Schönenberg regularly hosts the Zurich Open – one of the most renowned professional tournaments in Switzerland in which some of the best players in the world have participated including Fred Couples, Miguel Angel Jiménez, Sam Torrance, Sandy Lyle, Laura Davis, Constantino Rocca, Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn.
