The Orange Dunes Golf Club is far from the capital and not easy to locate, but it's worth the effort to play one of the more intriguing courses in the country. The gorgeous site is tucked into the mountains, though the course itself is relatively level. What makes the layout special is that it allows for a number of different combinations of holes to make up a round. The only downside to this arrangement is the waiting that can result when the course is busy; the problem is particularly on the stretch of a short par 4 sandwiched between two par 3s that is the 15th to the 17th. The signature 423-yard par 4 13th offers both lovely alpine views and a pair of forced carries. The one problem with maintenance is that greens are not groomed as well as they might be owing to problems with the drainage system.
