Columbus City Golf Courses are Home to Six Superb Courses that Offer the Best Golfing Experience in Central Ohio.
There are only three courses in the state of Ohio that were designed by the most famous golf course architect known throughout the world – Robert Trent Jones – and we have two of them - Champions Golf Course and Raymond Memorial Golf Course (the privately-owned Firestone Country Club in Akron is the third). In addition, Champions is the only upscale public course in the state and possibly the nation that is managed by a female golf professional who is a member of both the LPGA and the PGA as well as a female superintendent that has the highest certification from the Golf Course Superintendent’s Association, while Raymond Memorial is the only course in the entire state that has twin par three holes.
Airport Golf Course is located on the grounds of Port Columbus International Airport in which airplane patterns for landing and taking-off occur right above your head on this course designed by renowned golf course architects Jack Kidwell and Michael Hurdzan, while Turnberry Golf Course, designed by Arthur Hills, is one of the only true Scottish link style golf courses in Central Ohio with tall, heather grasses lining all of the holes as well as elevated greens and deep bunkers.
Mentel Memorial Golf Course and Wilson Road Golf Course were also designed by Jack Kidwell. Mentel Memorial has picturesque ponds, wide fairways, undulating greens and it sits next door to the city's regional Bolton Field Airport, while Wilson Road has a meandering steam, tree-lined fairways, and is the only executive 9-hole course in Central Ohio.
