Architect Frank Pennink designed the original 9-hole course at Wouwse Plantage in the 70's. It took another decade to complete the course and build the 18-hole course. Paul Rolin achieved Pennink's job on an adjacent agricultural land. The original nine is played in the woods and is more demanding than Paul Rolin's design; Fairways are tight and surrounded by Scots pine trees, while Rolin's holes are played on a more open landscape. The course was renovated in 2006 by Ken Moodie, he altered the number of bunkers (both greenside and fairway bunkers) and changed some of the tee boxes. The course at Wouwse Plantage now has PGA standards and hosts the PGA Trophy, organized by the PGA of Holland.
