Cabell B. Robinson
Cabell Robinson, who is now based in Malaga, is much in demand in the south of Europe and North Africa in Morocco, where he is especially well regarded. His layout at El Jadida, some fifty miles outside the city of Casablanca, is threaded along the Atlantic coast, especially toward the end, and amid eucalyptuses. The course, with its spectacular vistas out over the sea, is usually quite enjoyable to play, though the breezes off the shore can be punishing. Now that it is owned by the Pullman Hotel firm, the club is receiving the upkeep that it deserves; two full eighteens are now open; and the amenities have improved greatly over the past few years. The weather is nearly always excellent, and for fun off the course visitors can enjoy the beach as well as the historic old Portuguese settlement of Mazagan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
