Vista Vallarta may be a little hard to locate, but the citizens of Puerto Vallarta are always kind and helpful to visitors (and that attitude extends to the service staff at the club). The lockers at the clubhouse are a little tight, but that's to be expected with a resort course, and all the other facilities are superb, though a neighboring dump makes for some pungent play on the two holes that are farthest from the clubhouse. Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf each designed a course at Vista Vallarta, and Nicklaus' layout demands all kinds of shots and is definitely the more challenging. Members of course have the option of switching between the two. Unlike most clubs, the pin positions remain the same from Friday all the way through Sunday. There are in any case the spectacular vistas of the city and the ocean that give the club its name.
Opened in April 2001, the first course at Vista Vallarta is a signature design by Jack Nicklaus. Since this course is located on the property’s highest elevation, golfers are treated not only to world-class golf, but will enjoy breathtaking views of Puerto Vallarta, the Marina and Banderas Bay as well.
