Jack Nicklaus designed the three nines—dubbed Jungle, Lakes and Dunes—at Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort in Cancun, not far from the international airport, in 2002. Each nine has its own distinctive topography and landscape, and any combination of the three will be enjoyable and instructive, no matter a player's skill level. The Lakes+Dunes pair is as good as any, taking golfers through natural plants and trees and marshlands. The bunkers are both attractive and functional, and like the rest of the grounds are superbly maintained. There are many memorable holes, among which one standout is lovely and demanding the par 3 8th on the Lakes Course. Amenities at the finest clubhouse around include a fine restaurant and bar, a fantastic pro shop and a dedicated staff. Other attractions at the resort include live concerts by leading acts and daily and nightly activities for the whole family.
