Robert von Hagge
The late American designer Robert von Hagge designed the two courses at Bogogno Golf Club, the championship Del Conte and the Bonora. Golf at the club, which is located in the Piedmont region of Italy some sixty miles outside Turin, has grown rapidly from a single, brief nine holes to two full-sized courses, and has experienced a concomitant increase in prestige. The site is characterized by spacious, smoothly undulating ground, and von Hagge let nothing go to waste, so that the clubhouse only returns to view with the final hole. Since the Bonora is the less demanding of the two, this is probably the place where most players will want to begin before they consider whether to tackle the Del Conte. On the other hand, those players who emerge confidentially from the latter course may enjoy capping off the experience with a nice nine on the Bonora.
