I loved Dooks (played 2007). You get the real links feeling at this course. Traditionally shaped and directly at the end of al long bay (open to the atlantic ocean) you always have gentle winds blowing. The bay structure gives you a little more protection than on straight coastlines. The holes along the water are seamed by beautiful sandy beaches. In comparison to other courses from the late 1800 century (one of the oldest in ireland) greens are fairly big and gently ondulated. Bunkers are rarely placed but steep sometimes and roughs are pretty open. If the wind is not blowing too hard you can get a good score on this course on an average day since the course is not too long.
The beautiful Kerry landcape with its smooth hills is a perfect surrounding for a traditional golf-day. People where very friendly and hospitable. We played a fourball with two local players assigned to our teetime - it was great fun! Definitely a positive recommendation in any way! Greenfee was 120€ - which i consider a fair price.
