A modern golf course that will test the ambitious as well as the recreational player. Such is the 18-hole course at the Beroun Golf Club, just 14 kilometers west of the capital of Prague. The Beroun 18-hole golf course opened in 2009. The first non-public golf course in the Czech Republic offers an amazing amount of privacy. Apart from members and their guests, it is open only to international visitors, guests of the resort hotel and participants of club event. The dynamic par-72 course is 6,087 meters long. It was designed by Canadian architect Les Furber, a long time collaborator of Robert Trent Jones Sr. - the rightful father of the modern age golf course concept. Les Furber has given the Beroun Golf Club course all the attributes of modern golf – the landing areas are visible and individual holes allow for a strategic choice between risk and safety. The course terrain is free of treacherous parts ”swallowing“ golf balls, yet the player can be trapped in any one of its four lakes or 70 bunkers.
