El Rincon de Cajica is a private club located in Cajica, a small city about 15 miles north of Bogotá at an elevation of over 8500 feet. Robert Trent Jones laid out the par 72, 6774-yard course here in 1957, and it is a joy to play. There is great variety in the length of the holes, though overall the course is the nicely proportioned; it also boasts very well kept putting greens. But with a rating-to-slope ratio of 75-to-153, and winds powerful enough to blow through the trees that line the fairways, this is a course that demands some really tough shots and some real stamina. So expect a round to take a long time to complete, and expect to lose some balls along the way. The great facilities and service at the clubhouse include a practice area with pitching and putting surfaces and a friendly, multi-lingual staff.
