Thomas McBroom built his reputation on his this links-like course, which plays out in part through groves of trees but has its best holes among the ocean dunes. The course, which occupies a site on the north of Prince Edward Island, was recognized in 1998 when the Export A Skins game brought in the likes of Fred Couples, John Daly, Mark O'Meara and Mike Weir to show their stuff. While the opening few holes fail to deliver on the expectation of oceanside golf, they still offer great play through the evergreens. But it is the holes by the Atlantic that are the real draw here, beginning with the par 3 8th, whose 219 acres extend over a narrow bay, and continuing through the 14th and 17th, cleverly set amid the mounds of sand. The final hole leaves the ocean behind, but most golfers will come away thinking of that seaside stretch.
