Greg Norman was Australia's greatest player in the latter half of the 20th century, and would have been unmatched had he only been able to pick up some of the major championships for which he was a top contender. So if Norman needed any consolation, he has found it in his many successful business ventures, including golf course design. His course here at Brookwater dates back to 2002 and is a little bit out in the bush. At 6505 meters, it is ready should the big boys come to town, but is open enough for regular players. Norman's familiarity with Australia's classic courses has given him a keen eye for design; above all he knows when less is more, so his layout here at the Brookwater blends into the sparse bush setting. Like the classic courses, easier holes here ease a player into the round, while the finish is appropriately difficult.
