The course at Seven Canyons, a gated golf community in Sedona, was created by Tom Weiskopf in 2002. The club is situated at an elevation of five thousand feet on land that has great soil for golf, varies from meadow to alpine and offers panoramic vistas of the rugged stone outcroppings that make this part of Arizona so intriguing and attractive. The layout is a real challenge, in particular the diminutive and quick greens; and there is always the distraction of the surroundings to contend with, especially on the signature 7th. All in all, though, the holes are not that memorable apart from the stunning surroundings. Maintenance is impeccable, though, and the staff is welcoming and attentive and ready with all the amenities that are on hand in the recently completed clubhouse. Visitors can enjoy the Tlaquepque native crafts settlement only a few minutes away for the galleries, gift shops and dining.
