The Domain Imperial is located in a former property of the Emperor Napoleon’s family. The clubhouse offers a spectacular view over Lake Geneva. Maybe, the expectations are just too high. The lake cannot be seen from the golf course which is littered with countless bunkers (many of them being purely decorative). Moreover, the layout is inconsistent without this being obviously a choice of the designer (P. Dye). Basically, there are two different golf courses. One, the front-nine, is a brilliant parkland will old trees. On the other hand, the treeless back-nine is rather dull with wide and long back and forth fairways. Nevertheless, it should be noted that Domaine Imperial always has excellent course conditions and pristine greens. Make no mistake, overall, this is a very good golf course, but not the best in Switzerland and not even the best in the Geneva area.
