Designed by legendary Australian golfer Greg Norman, El Camaleon Mayakoba Golf Course made golf history in 2007 when it became the home of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, the first PGA Tour event to be contested outside the US and Canada. Like the chameleon, from which it takes its name, the course offers constantly changing views as it winds through 3 diverse ecosystems: the tropical Mayan jungle, mangrove wetlands and the Mexican Caribbean shore-line. Distinctive hazards such as cenotes (sink holes), extensive bunkers and crystal-clear fresh water canals are unique features of this Norman´s masterpiece certified by Audubon International for its commitment to the environment.
Amenities include a PGA Tour quality practice facility, an on-site Jim McLean Golf School and a full stock logo Pro Shop. Golf carts are equipped with GPS yardage player assistance and professional-line golf clubs are available for rent.
El Camaleon offers on-course Beverage Cart service and Koba Restaurant overlooking the 18th hole where players can savour their round after a day filled with exhilarating play.
