course description

Castelfalfi's 27 hole facility With courses among the most beautiful and challenging in Italy, Golf Club Toscana Resort Castelfalfi has plenty to offer. With an 18-hole mountain course, a 9-hole lakeside course, driving range and short game area, not to mention the views, golfers are well catered for at Castelfalfi. The courses, well played since their respective openings in 2010 and 2011, have been remodelled from the 20-year-old designs of golf architect, Mancinelli. The remodelling works in elegant sympathy with the landscape, and elevates the courses to the latest standard. The current clubhouse now sits in the centre of the two courses, with unobstructed views of the castello and central borgo. On completion the redeveloped clubhouse will combine traditional and contemporary architecture, with a glass roof connecting two restored farmhouses. With a further nine holes planned, and discounted membership for homeowners, Castelfalfi is first class for golf lovers. The Courses The courses at Castelfalfi are designed to start and finish at the clubhouse. So whether you are playing nine holes or the full eighteen, you will never be too far from pre or post-game refreshment. The Mountain Course Open since August 2010, the 6,351m mountain course has gained a reputation as both beautiful and challenging thanks to the estate’s breath-taking natural vistas and steep gradients. Par 72, the course holds challenges for beginners and advanced players alike, with water hazards to the front and side of tees. The natural topography of the land has been allowed to inform the design of the course giving each tee an individual character, while the pre-existing woodland gives a sense of privacy on every fairway. The 9th hole, a par 3 that lunges towards a peninsular green into a commanding view of the castello, is particularly challenging and a course highlight. The Lake Course The newer of the estate’s two courses, playable since November 2011, is the lake course. Designed by award winning German golf architect Rainer Preißmann, the course is currently a 9-hole, par 37, and is suitable for all golfers, regardless of handicap. Starting out in a south-westerly direction from the first tee, the course loops back to its beginning, tracing the undulating Tuscan landscape. Permission has already been granted to extend the Lake Course to the full 18 holes, which will be completed during the final construction phase.

(Very good)

Nice course (Mountain Course): currently in excellent condition with good greens and lush green fairways. Quite a few ups and downs (topographical ones!) to master across each hole and from one...

Excellent parcours, sans doute l un des meilleurs si ce n est le meilleur de Toscane Difficile, un vrai challenge , varié et un cadre exceptionnel Club house un peu en retrait mais reste un must

(Very good)

Great course and very technical. Don't play between 12pm and 3pm during summer, with no tree shadows you might hate it. Favorite holes: 2,9 and 17. Amazing place!
