Hawaiian natives Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright came to Indonesia to design the par 72 eighteen for the Bali National Golf Club, and Nick Faldo set the course record 63 when he clinched the 1994 Alfred Dunhill Masters. Situated in the resort enclave of Nusa Dua in the south of Bali, the course offers a variety of teeing options (6888 down to 5208 yards). The opening nine are difficult and picturesque, working their way up along tropical ravines, and afford views of nearby Mount Agung and views of the Indian Ocean. The back nine feature nicely contoured fairways fringed with palms. The ocean and beach the final two holes, lapping either side of the 17th fairway, and giving way to a large pond by the clubhouse on the 18th. The service and upkeep is all first class, and the golfing experience here remains unsurpassed anywhere in the country.
