Among other things, the Seattle area is well known for being home to such business giants as Boeing and Microsoft, so it is not surprising that many tycoons have made their home here. The founder of the Aldarra Golf Club, given his association with Pine Valley, knows a thing or two about great courses, so he brought in one of America's top architects, Tom Fazio, to design his first course in the region. That course occupies a prime site on what was once the Boeing family estate, in the shadow of the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Si in the Coast Range. Aldarra stands out among US courses in that its grounds are lush with evergreens, rather than deciduous trees. Such is Fazio's achievement here that it can only be a matter of time before he is commissioned to lay out another superb course in the state of Washington.
