Members and their guests
None other than Donald Ross created the famed layout at Interlachen Country Club, which received a few renovations at the hand of Robert Trent Jones in the Sixties. Many regional, national and international tournaments have been played at Interlachen, including the US Open in 1930, where Bobby Jones managed to skip a ball over water to birdie the long par 5 9th and thus to advance one step closer to the remarkable Grand Slam he completed two months later. Other competitions that the club has hosted include the US Senior Amateur in 1986, the Walker Cup in 1993, the Solheim Cup in 2002, and the US Women's Open in 2008. The bunkers were refurbished in the mid-2000s and enhanced significantly, but the greens retain Ross's original design, backslanted and very fast. The sprawling Tudor-style clubhouse offers splendid views of the grounds, and offers a variety of dining options.
