Des Moines Golf and Country Club has not one, but two courses designed by the legendary golf architect Pete Dye. The 471-acre layout emphasizes the curves and dips of the land. Undulating greens vary in size and pitch. And each bentgrass fairway is blended into its own unique design with 120 bunkers and thousands of trees. All of this creates an exciting challenge for golfers of all levels.
The most exciting event in women's professional golf is returning to the Midwest in 2017. Des Moines Golf and Country Club, home of the 1999 U.S. Senior Open Championship which drew a record 252,800 spectators, will host the 15th playing of The Solheim Cup, matching the best women golfers from the United States against the best from Europe.
