California’s Monterey Peninsula is a truly legendary place for golfers. The center for the game is on the tip of the Peninsula, south of San Francisco and north of Los Angeles, at the beginning of the Pacific Coast Highway. This region combines a dramatic coastline and lush forest with a rich history of world-class accommodations, warm hospitality, expert service and great recreation.

The premier course has to be Pebble Beach Golf Links, which is a joy for any golfer and one of the most famous places to play the game in the world. The 18-hole championship course provides wide-open vistas, cliff-side fairways, a beautiful landscape and a real challenge. Pebble Beach has hosted five US Open Championships at which such great champions as Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson have competed, and will host its sixth in 2019.

There are of course other outstanding golf facilities in the Monterey Peninsula, including Cypress Point, which is one of the world's most exclusive golf clubs and consistently ranks among the top 3 courses on the planet. Then there is Spyglass Hill, with a layout designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, where the first five holes are often considered as the best opening stretch in golf anywhere. Mention should also be made of the redesigned Poppy Hills, home of the North California Golf Association, Monterey Peninsula Country Club, one of the three courses that hosts the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am, and Bayonet, often named as the best value for the money for golf in California.

Other nearby courses are: Del Monte Golf Course, Pacific Grove Golf Links, Quail Lodge Golf Club, Rancho Canada Golf Club, Tehama Golf Club and The Links at Spanish Bay.
