Yet another Tom Doak designed masterpiece. Whilst a little wider off the tee than the Red, the greens are far more of challenge, making scoring far from easy. A sheer delight and most certainly would happily tee it up here every day. Wow. What a place.
After playing the Red the day before, here we were at sunrise on the 1st tee box, one of the highest points of the property. It was love at first sight! The hole course is brilliant (enjoyed it a bit more than the Red, though water is less visible on this one).
I did not find any weak holes, and I must say that the iconic par 3 7th was, well, iconic! A solid 180 yard par 3 from a perched tee box to a green protected by water in front and a huge dune all around... And if you are good enough to be on the green, don't be on the wrong plateau, especially if the pin is on the lower one (do you sense the pain!?).
We really enjoyed the entire experience all the way until the wonderful 18th and its master bunkers... Oh yes, if you like bunkers, you'll be served!!
Streamsong was definitely brilliant and I am eager to discover the Black course next and I even heard 2 more should be built after that... Will definitely compete with Bandon on that regards...
