Definitely one of the best layouts in all of Florida, Crooked Cat or Panther Lakes. The course is always in great shape and has a great range and practice facility. There are numerous tee-boxes and can play very long from the back. Unlike most Florida golf there are hills and lots of undulation around the greens and fairways. The greens are always in good condition and roll true. When staying at the lodge there can be some heated night putting matches under the lights, great place to have beers and wake up for 36 in the morning. Done it several times, makes for a great few days.
Really fun and challenging course. The layout is long but most fairways offer wide landing areas. Where it can get tricky is around the greens, which are fast and firm but still hold the shots they are suppose to. The multi-level greens are the real tricky ones...if you end up in the wrong area its an easy 3 putt. Great bunkering protects the greens which makes approach shots into them difficult. All in all, great course to test your skills!!
I grew playing this course in a lot of junior tournaments, both courses were in a great shape year round! Very known in the golf industry for a great facility and good coaching staff! Set on some small shaped hills which are not very common in Orlando which gives every hole some character!
