People not familiar with the Phoenix area you need to be because it’s a very good area for golf enthusiast. If it be a buddies, couples, or even as a single the surrounding Phoenix Area is welcoming to all. With fantastic weather all but 15 weeks during the middle of the summer where it can be 120 degrees any given day. TPC Scottsdale is most famous for ‘The Coliseum’ 16th that is transformed during the The Waste Management. Over the last couple years the event has generated some of the largest crowds in sports history. The environment is epic and a must visit event if your a fan of the game. Onto the golf course itself, with all the options in and around Phoenix TPC Scottsdale isn’t a must play. The course itself is average at best and number 16 is forgettable with the stadium seating not available year around. Like most courses that hold PGA events the condoning of the course gets forgotten about away from the event. Many of the holes are forgettable even before teeing off on the next hole. The course had little character and it’s easy to lose focus early in the round do to the number of generic holes. I remember number 17 the most with a drivable par 4 with water to the left of the green. The hole is fun to play after being totally disappointed playing the 16th. A plus about Scottsdale is the great practice area they have to offer, so showing up early is recommended. With great tracks abound in the area look elsewhere to play while visiting Arizona. Don’t let the lack of world top ranked courses deprive you from visiting because there are many worthwhile courses to be played in Phoenix.
